SSI recipients usually receive their monthly payment on the first day of the month. However, the Social Security Administration will not send the SSI payment on September 1, 2024. Instead, it will have to be rescheduled for August 30.
The SSI payments for October and November will be sent on the 1st. Therefore, there will be no changes or payments in advance. Bear in mind, that this will not be the only payment that the Social Security Administration has scheduled for this day.
Social Security payment on November 1, not just SSI
Apparently, the Social Security payment for 2 groups of retirees will have to be sent 2 days in advance. This happens when there is a Federal holiday or the payday falls on the weekend.
That is why some SSI recipients may get another check on the same day in November. Check eligibility for the Social Security check for retirees and SSDI recipients on November 1, 2024:
- receiving SSI and Social Security retirement or SSDI benefits simultaneously
- began collecting Social Security before May 1997
- remain eligible for Social Security on the 3rd
Apart from SSI and Social Security, SNAP benefit payments on Nov. 1
The United States Department of Agriculture has confirmed the SNAP payments for November that will also include the 2025 COLA increase for those citizens in the 48 contiguous States, the District of Columbia, Alaska, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
