Summer time is approaching and payments will definitely come in handy to make the most of your free time. Disability beneficiaries and seniors who are at least 65 years old may be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) if they have a low income.

If you are an SSI recipient, your next monthly payment will not be due on June 1. Bear in mind that the Social Security Administration never sends money to disability beneficiaries on the weekend.

DISABILITY BENEFICIARIES TO GET $698 IN MAY

Since SSA cannot send SSI payments on June 1, the check or direct deposit will be in your bank account on May 31. SSA has decided to send it on the previous business day so as to avoid delays.

Keep in mind that the average SSI payment is $698.16 as of April 2024. This does not mean that everyone gets this average check. If you have other sources of earnings, you may get less.

Those on SSI who qualify for the largest payment in 2024 could receive $943 if single. An essential person could receive up to $472. Eligible married couples can collect a payment worth $1,415.

REMAINING SSI PAYMENTS FOR DISABILITY RECIPIENTS AND SENIORS IN 2024

Although most SSI payments are due on the first day of the month, there can be exceptions. Just like it is due on May 31 rather than on June 1. For example, the next change will be in August.

July 1 will be an SSI payday for all eligible beneficiaries and August 1 as well. However, the SSI payment for September will not arrive on September 1. Supplemental Security Income payment will be due on August 30 instead.

The month of October will bring no surprises. Nevertheless, there will be 2 SSI payments for those disability recipients and seniors who qualify on November 1 and 29. The check payment for December will be due in November, and the one for January on December 31. SSI is also for blind people and qualifying children.
