A new payment is more than welcome just 5 days before Christmas Day. If you have not received a check yet this month, this could be yours. While some seniors could cash $4,555, others may receive much less.
The good thing is that if you do not qualify for this payment, you may be eligible for the next one on December 27. What is more, some seniors can even receive another check on December 29 but if they do not qualify for the one on December 20 or 27.

First and foremost, all beneficiaries must have filed for Social Security retirement benefits. If you started receiving your monthly payment before May 1997, you will not be eligible though.
WHO CAN RECEIVE $1,849 TODAY IN THE USA?
The Social Security Administration has confirmed that the December 20 payment will be for retirees whose birth date is from 11-20. If that is your case, check your bank account balance and see if it is already there.
Sometimes it could take up to three mailing days. So do not worry if your check is not on time. However, most retirees will receive their money today if they are eligible.
As it was stated before, you may collect your monthly payment on December 27. This check will be for those retirees who started receiving benefits in or after May 1997 and meet the birthday requirement.
Those retirees whose birth date is from the 21st to the 31st will receive their next payment on December 27. This will be the last retirement check seniors can get in 2023. Unfortunately, it will not have the 2024 COLA increase and this group will have to wait until January 24 to cash it.
A NEW PAYMENT WORTH UP TO $943 ON DECEMBER 29
The last payment of the year will be for those on Supplemental Security Income. This is additional money for those American citizens on a really low income. So, some retirees and people on Social Security Disability Insurance may qualify.
The December 29 payment was supposed to arrive on January 1, 2024. Therefore, it will be a higher amount than the December 1 SSI check. As the 2024 COLA starts on that day, beneficiaries will get extra money.
The Social Security Administration has already informed of the maximum amounts of these payments. SSI recipients can get up to $943 in 2024. This maximum amount is for individuals.
Those couples who both qualify for SSI can get up to $1,415, so they will receive 44 dollars more than in 2023. Single recipients can just get up to 29 dollars extra per month.
