Currently, the average payment for spouses of workers on Social Security is $910. It is a little lower than half the amount for workers. Eligible children of retired workers can also receive monthly payments.
As of May 2024, the average payment for children of retired workers is $893. For your information, the more you delay retirement, the higher your direct deposit will be. Early filing can reduce your payment. So, if you are still working in the United States, delay filing as much as you can to get additional money per month.
