If you are at least 62 years old and you have not received your Social Security payment in May, here are the upcoming paydays. Of course, this money is only for those who filed, but not before May 1997.

What is more, the Social Security Administration will ensure you meet the birthday condition. Otherwise, you will not receive this monthly payment. Bear in mind that there are just 2 paydays left.

WHEN WILL SOCIAL SECURITY SEND CHECKS OF $1,915?

The next date when the Administration will send average payments of $1,915 will be May 15. Therefore, retirees aged 62 or older could get money in about 2 days. Of course, as long as they meet the birthday condition.

Retirees aged 62 or older who qualify for one of the Wednesday payments need to have their birthdays from 11-20. If your birthday is later in the month, you will get it on May 22 instead.

So you will not have to wait too long before your Social Security payment is in your bank account in May. But can all retirees receive a payment worth $1,915 in May 2024?

SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK AMOUNTS

Each recipient may get a different amount. Nevertheless, the Social Security Administration has announced that the average payment for retired workers is $1,915. That does not mean you can get that amount.

As a matter of fact, some retirees aged 62 or older may get less or even more money. For example, if you have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years in jobs covered by SSA and filed at 70, you could get up to $4,873.

If you have filed at 62, you can only get up to $2,710. Those workers who have been high earners but filed at Full Retirement Age can receive up to $3,822. If your Social Security check is too low, you should apply for SSI at the same time to get additional cash from the Federal governement.
