Social Security sends payments to disability and retirement beneficiaries on the same days. If you are on benefits, but not before May 1997, you may still get a check in February.
Bear in mind that your payday will arrive sooner or later depending on your birth date. If your birthday is early in the month, from 1-10, your check will be due on February 14.
So, both retirees and people on disability benefits can get Social Security next Wednesday. It is true that their average payments are not the same. Retirement benefits tend to be much higher in general.
PAYMENT AMOUNTS FOR RETIREES AND DISABILITY BENEFICIARIES ON FEB. 14
The average payments have recently increased. Thankfully, all Social Security beneficiaries have received a 50-dollar boost on average. After this growth, benefits are $48 extra for SSDI and $59 for retirement benefits.

Therefore, the new average disability benefits are worth about $1,537, up from $1,489. Retirement benefits were $1,848 on average in 2023, but they are about $1,907 in 2024.
Maximum amounts for SSDI are $3,822. In fact, it is the same amount for retirees who file at Full Retirement Age in 2024. The largest benefit for retirees is worth $4,873 in 2024 claims Social Security.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE FEBRUARY 21 AND 28 SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS?
The Administration does not send all benefits on the same payday. Thus, some beneficiaries must wait longer than others to enjoy their monthly payment. February 21 will be the payday for those retirees and people on SSDI whose birthdays are from 11-20.
The last February payment will be due on the 28th. This check could be yours if your birthday is from 21-31. Do not forget that if you are on SSI and Social Security your payment was on February 2.
February 2 was also the payday for those on retirement and disability benefits before May 1997. So their next retirement or disability check will be due on March 1. Two days in advance because March 3 is on the weekend.
