The Social Security Administration will deliver a new payment for retirees on September 18, 2024. On the very same day, SSDI recipients will collect money from the Agency.
Some Americans who worked and earned the largest wages may qualify for a payment of up to $3,822 if they filed at Full Retirement Age in 2024. Although this is the maximum benefit for SSDI, it is not for retirees.
SSDI & retirement payment within 24 hours
In just 24 hours, hundreds of retirees and SSDI recipients may get a large payment from the Social Security Administration. SSA always makes sure recipients meet all the requirements.
To know if you qualify for the next SSDI or retirement benefit payments in September , check the following details:
- On Social Security (Disability Insurance or retirement) after April 30, 1997.
- Not receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
- the recipient meets the birthday requirement
- born from 11-20 payment on September 18
- born from 21-31 payment on September 25
Eligibility for a Social Security payment worth $3,822: SSDI & Retirement
If you were not a high earner before applying for Social Security, you will not be eligible for a payment worth $3,822. This payment is only for those workers who earned the taxable maximum for 35 years.
Bear in mind that the taxable maximum in 2024 is $168,600, and it keeps increasing when COLA goes up. So, it is even more challenging to achieve it. That is why few Americans receive $3,822 in retirement or when they qualify for SSDI.
So, if you have earned the contribution and benefit base for 35 years, have worked for the same number of years, filed at Full Retirement Age, and had jobs covered by SSA, you could get $3,822 in September or October for retirement.
SSDI and retirement benefit amounts will remain the same through December 2024. It will not be until January 2025 that the new COLA increase will come into effect for all recipients in the United States.
