The Social Security Administration (SSA) has already prepared the next payment in the United States. Millions of recipients are still waiting for their monthly checks.
Bear in mind that those on benefits before May 1997 have already received their money in March. If you are on both SSI and Social Security you also got your payment on March 1.
If you started receiving benefits after or in May 1997, you could get your next Social Security check in a few days. If so, you will have to wait for up to 3 more weeks.
WHEN WILL SOCIAL SECURITY SEND THE NEXT PAYMENTS IN MARCH?
The Administration has scheduled the next three payments on March 13, 20 and 27. Therefore, all of them will take place on a Wednesday. The second, third, and fourth Wednesday in March.
For your information, if you are on benefits after April 30, 1997, you will receive your payment depending on your birth date. For instance, if your birthday is from 1-10, your check will arrive on March 13.
Those retirees aged 62 or older whose birthday is from 11-20 can get their money from Social Security on March 20. March 27 will be your payday if your birth date is from 21-31.
AMERICAN RETIREES AND THEIR PAYMENT AMOUNTS
If you are retired, the average Social Security payment is $1,909 as of January 2024. However, this is just an approximate amount. Thus, some seniors will collect higher payments, while others will receive a lot less.
Maximum benefits can provide retirees with a Social Security check worth $4,873. That happens when you file at the age of 70 in 2024, have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years and had jobs covered by SSA.
Payments can be lower if you meet almost the same
