The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced when the November 3 payment will be sent instead. Although retirement, SSDI, and SSI payments are regularly sent on the same days, there can be changes.
Social Security needs to reschedule payments when there is a Federal holiday on the same day as the payment was supposed to be sent. However, it is not the only case when a retirement benefit payment need to be rescheduled.
Why has Social Security changed the payment date for checks on November 3?
The Agency has decided to change the November 3 payment because this day falls on Sunday. As Sundays SSA offices and banks are not open, there could be delays in the disbursements.
Therefore, the Social Security Administration will deliver the retirement benefit payments on Friday, November 1, 2024, so everyone can receive their direct deposit or check on time.
Hence, if you are receiving Supplemental Security Income on November 1 and you are also receiving Social Security, your retirement or SSDI payment will also be sent on the same day. So, recipients who are on SSI and Social Security will get a double payment on November 1, 2024.
Another change Social Security brings for SSI in November
SSI recipients will receive two payments in November. There will be no extra or bonus payment. Once more, it is an advanced payment for the month of December.
Since December 1 falls on the weekend, the SSI payment will be sent on the previous business day. In this case, it will be sent on November 29, rather than Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Thus, if you are a Supplemental Security Income recipient, you will get your November check on the first and the one for December on the 29th. Do not forget to save that money for the upcoming month and plan your budget ahead of schedule to stick to your earnings.
