SNAP benefits in the States of Louisiana and Mississippi, check when you could get Food Stamps in February 2024

USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and the Food and Nutrition Service are in charge of the SNAP benefits. However, each State administers paydays and applications.

That is why some SNAP beneficiaries in the USA have already collected their Food Stamp payments in February. Others have not received them yet. If you live in Louisiana or Mississippi, here are the paydays.

For your information, the SNAP maximum amounts are the same in the 48 contiguous States and the District of Columbia. Nevertheless, your amount will depend on your family size, your resources, and your income.

SNAP PAYDAYS LEFT IN LOUISIANA

The State of Louisiana sends Food Stamps from the 1st of February to the 23rd. In order to arrange payments, they use the beneficiary’s Social Security Number (SSN).

If you are on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits in Louisiana and your Social Security Number is 6, you will receive the money on your Electronic Benefits Transfer card on January 17th. If it ends in 7, you will receive it on January 19, 2024.

January 21st will be your SNAP payday if your Social Security Number ends in 8. The last Food Stamp beneficiaries to get their money in Louisiana will be those whose SSN ends in 9. Their payday will be on January 23rd.

As for the maximum SNAP amounts, they can be up to $291 for a single person and up to $1,751 for a family of 8. Average payments may be lower since they may have other earnings and Food Stamps only cover part of your food expenses.

FOOD STAMPS AND PAYDAYS IN MISSISSIPPI

The State of Mississippi has 5 payments left for those citizens on Food Stamps. The next check will be January 17 but if your Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program case number ends in 75-79.

Then, January 18 will be for those SNAP beneficiaries in Mississippi whose case number ends in 80-84. If it is 85-89, your payday will be on January 19. After this payment, there will be another one on January 20.

To get your SNAP benefits on January 20 your case number must end in 90-94. The last payday for SNAP beneficiaries in Mississippi will be for those whose case number ends in 95-99.

The maximum amounts are the same as the ones for Louisiana. A family of four can get up to $973 and a five-member family can collect a SNAP payment worth up to $1,155. On average recipients could get $713 for 4 and $852 for five claims the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
