Many states are sending SNAP benefits this week. Despite the fact that some send Food Stamps on a single payday, other States send them for weeks. The 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia have the same maximum amounts.
Alaska, Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam send SNAP larger payments. This is because of inflation. As it is higher in these places, they need to give Food Stamp beneficiaries more money.
It was last October 1, 2023, when all SNAP recipients got an increase in their monthly Food Stamp payments. So, if you have just joined the program, you should know that you are already receiving the COLA boost.

HOW MUCH CAN I GET FOR 2 PEOPLE ON FOOD STAMPS?
According to the United States Department of Agriculture and the Food and Nutrition Service, the largest payment for 2 SNAP beneficiaries is $535. However, not everyone qualifies for the largest payment.
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities claims that average SNAP payments for 2024 are about $372 if you are 2 people. Obviously, the lower your income is the higher your payment may be.
If you are three members, the largest Food Stamp payment is $766. The average amount is just $598 though. As you can see there is an important difference between 2 and 3 beneficiaries.
Do not forget that if you are aged 18-52, have no kids, and can work, you can only get SNAP benefits for 3 months in a 3-year period. Due to the Able-Bodied Adult Without Dependents time limit, you have to work for 80 hours per month to continue receiving them for longer.
