SNAP benefits are a great way to help American families with a low income fight food insecurity. However, a natural disaster can affect more families. The Florida Department of Children and Families offers D-SNAP.

Do not forget that the online pre-registration will be open for some counties. It started on November 3 but the deadline is approaching so you should file as soon as possible not to miss out on this money for food.

When is the deadline for PHASE 2 to claim D-SNAP?

Counties like Sarasota, Polk, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Hernando and Charlotte will be able to claim Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits through November 8.

The time applications or pre-registration closes will be at 11.59 p.m. Therefore, it is essential to do it now and do not leave it till the very last minute because there could be too many people doing it at the same time.

Once you are done with the pre-registration process, you must do another task. All the applicants in the 7 counties mentioned above (Charlotte, Hernando, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota) must call the D-SNAP Call center.

The phone number you must call after completing the registration process will be: (888) 348-0408. Just like any other office in the USA, it has opening hours. Hence, you should call between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET.

Make your call on the designated day in order to complete the phone interview. Election Day will affect opening hours and D-SNAP offices will be closed. So, you will need to call after this important day.
