The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients will soon see Food Stamps increase. This is after the United States Department of Agriculture’s announcement that benefits will only go up in the 48 contiguous States, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the District of Columbia, and Alaska.
However, SNAP beneficiaries in the State of Hawaii will get less money after the Cost of Living Adjustment. They will be the only recipients who will see how their maximum Food Stamp amounts decrease.

SNAP maximum amounts for September before the COLA increase
USDA has confirmed that the maximum payments will remain the same until September 30, 2024. Therefore, if you are a single recipient in the 48 contiguous States and D.C., the maximum amount for an individual will be $291. After COLA, there will not be a big difference since it will just be up to $292.
A family of 2, 3, or 4 members can receive up to $535, $766, or $943 respectively. SNAP households with 5, 6, or 7 members can receive up to $1,155, $1,386, or $1,532 following the same order.
A family of 8 will receive up to $1,751 in their SNAP EBT card in September. After COLA, the same family of 8 can receive up to $1,756. Thus, it is a really small increase that may disappoint millions of recipients.
