The amount of your Food Stamp payment will depend on your earnings and savings. To get $3,487 you must meet all the requirements and live in the State of Alaska.

Generally, you must have no other income, no savings, and have a family of 8. Living in Alaska will not be enough because you must live in one of the areas known as “Rural 2”.

The United States Virgin Islands also sends higher SNAP payments. As a matter of fact, the largest Food Stamp check for 8 is worth $2,252. The 48 contiguous States can send payments of up to $1,751.

A family of 4 can receive up to $973 in the 48 contiguous States and the District of Columbia. In this U.S. Virgin Islands, this amount goes up to $1,251, which is a lot more.

Families with 4 members in Alaska may get very different amounts. This is because it depends on the area where you live. SNAP beneficiaries in Alaska who live in an urban area can get up to $1,248.

However, if you live in Rural 1, you could get up to $1,591 on your EBT card. Rural 2 recipients can receive from the SNAP program up to $1,937. As you can see, there is a massive difference between Urban and Rural 2 amounts.
