In order to get SNAP benefits in Maine you must know the last digit of your birthday.
- If the last digit of the birthdate is 0 or 9, benefits are available on the 10th of the month.
- If the last digit of the birthdate is 1 or 8, benefits are available on the 11th of the month.
- If the last digit of the birthdate is 2 or 3, benefits are available on the 12th of the month.
- If the last digit of the birthdate is 4 or 7, benefits are available on the 13th of the month.
- If the last digit of the birthdate is 5 or 6, benefits are available on the 14th of the month.
SNAP recipients in Massachusetts must pay attention to the last digit of their Social Security Number:
If the last digit of the SSN is 4, benefits are available on the 7th of the month.
If the last digit of the SSN is 5, benefits are available on the 8th of the month.
If the last digit of the SSN is 6, benefits are available on the 10th of the month.
If the last digit of the SSN is 7, benefits are available on the 11th of the month.
If the last digit of the SSN is 8, benefits are available on the 13th of the month.
