SNAP and SSI payments will be on the same day in these States in April, said USDA and Social Security

SNAP benefits do not arrive on the same day in all States, however, Social Security generally schedules SSI on the same day for all recipients

Getting SNAP and SSI at the same time can be of great help, especially if your Social Security benefit is really low

SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program while SSI is the Supplemental Security Income. Social Security scheduled SSI for April 1, 2024. USDA has informed when the first Food Stamps will be due too.

Some States are sending all SNAP benefits to all recipients on a single day, April 1. Therefore, if you live in these States and get both SSI and Food Stamps, you receive all the money on the very same day.

The largest check an SSI beneficiary can receive is worth $943 (single) or $1,415 (married) said Social Security. SNAP benefits can give you up to $1,751 if you are 8, or up to $291 if you are just 2.

STATES SENDING SNAP ONLY ON APRIL 1, LIKE SSI PAYMENTS

In total, there are 4 States and 1 U.S. territory sending all the Food Stamps to all recipients on April 1, 2024. They are Alaska, Vermont, Rhode Island, North Dakota, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

However, there are many States that are giving SNAP benefits on April 1 as well, but to some beneficiaries only. A few examples are Arizona, California, South Carolina, Colorado, and Connecticut among others.

The thing is only those who meet the eligibility criteria will receive it on April 1. It will depend on the way payments are arranged. Some States use ID numbers, others Social Security Numbers, or case numbers to mention a few.

FOOD STAMP AMOUNTS ON APRIL 1

If you receive an average SSI check worth $696 and an average SNAP worth about $202 (for one person), you could get a total of $898. So that is almost $900.

The thing is many Americans still do not know that they qualify for SSI or SNAP benefits. Therefore, they may be facing food insecurity and financial difficulties.

The largest check for SSI will be $943 for 1 person or $1,415 for 2. If you are one person on SNAP benefits you can get up to $291. If you are 2, 3, 4, or 5 it could be up to $535, $766, $973, $1,155. $1,751 is the maximum for 8.
