If you are expecting to get a new Social Security check today, you could get a payment if you meet one essential requirement

Find out if you will get a new Social Security payment

Any United States citizen collecting a Social Security benefit could get a retirement check today. That’s if they meet the only requirement to collect today, November 3rd. One of the great advantages of starting to collect a Social Security benefit is that you can know in advance what your payment day will be each month.

And today is a payment day. That means the Social Security Administration will send eligible retirees a new check averaging $1,888, with the maximum being $4,555 in this year 2023. Regardless of the size of your check, you could get it today if you qualify.

The Social Security payment schedule has 4 different days marked on the calendar. On each of these four days, retirees can get their retirement check. However, it is important to keep in mind that each retiree can only get one of these checks. And that is because each payment day has different requirements. Therefore, we can get the payment on one of the days as long as we meet the requirements.

In the case of not meeting the requirements of today’s payment there is nothing to worry about, since the payment will arrive in the next few days. The important thing in these cases is to be very clear about the day on which we will get the payment every month. Do you meet the Social Security requirements for this November 3rd payment?

HOW TO RECEIVE THE NOVEMBER 3RD SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT?

If we want to get the November 3rd payment, we have to meet one requirement, as we have already mentioned. However, there is no way to change these conditions. That is, if we belong to group 1 of retirees who receive Social Security, we will always belong to group 1. We cannot change the day on which we receive our monthly pension payment.

To belong to group 1, which is the group that collects today November 3rd, we must have had our benefit accepted prior to 1997. If our check is prior to that year, payment will always be made on the 3rd day of the month, with some exceptions. When the 3rd day is a holiday or weekend, the Administration sends the payment on the immediately preceding business day.

Whether or not the payment is received on the 3rd day of November 3rd depends on the payment method chosen. If we choose Direct Deposit the money will not take a day to arrive. The payments appear immediately in our bank account if this method is activated. Otherwise it may take about 3 days for the money to be available.

OTHER RETIREMENT PAYMENTS IN NOVEMBER

Now that we know what the requirement is to collect on November 3rd, we are sure to wonder what will happen to the rest of the Social Security retirees. Well, if we are not in the group that collects check on November 3rd we will get the money in the next few weeks.

Citizens with a post-1997 retirement should note that they will collect on one of the following days depending on their birthday:

As with today’s payment, activating Direct Deposit is beneficial to get Social Security immediately. However, if we do not activate this payment method, we will still get the money, but a few days later.
