Here are all the average payments expected for April if you receive retirement benefits in the United States

The Administration has scheduled three more payments in April. Social Security checks and direct deposits will be for those who began collecting retirement benefits after April 30, 1997.

Bear in mind that every Social Security recipient may receive a made-to-measure amount. This is because it depends on the taxes you paid to SSA as you worked, when you retired, and your earnings.

AVERAGE SOCIAL SECURITY IN APRIL

The average payment for workers collecting retirement benefits is worth $1,910. That is what the Administration revealed recently in the latest monthly statistical snapshot. This average amount increased in about $59 after the Cost of Living Adjustment increase in January 2024.

However, this is not the only possible average retirement benefit. All retirement benefits together are worth $1,862 on average. The smallest average payments are for spouses and children of retired workers.

Social Security claimed that the average payment for spouses of retired workers is worth about $911. Children of retired workers can receive about $892 on average. To collect retirement benefits workers must have worked for a minimum of 10 years. That is at least 40 work credits.

REMAINING SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT DATES IN APRIL

The Administration will send money to eligible retirees on April 10, 17 and 24. Therefore, there are just 6 days left for the next payday for those who qualify for this check or direct deposit.

In order to get these payments, apart from filing, getting approval, and receiving them after April 30, 1997, you must meet the birthday requirement set by Social Security. Retirees on benefits before May 1997 will enjoy their next payment on May 3. Those on SSI & retirement at the same time too.
