As we enter the fourth month of the year, U.S. pensioners want to know when Social Security payments will be made to ease their finances.
It is worth remembering that as of January 1, 2024, all Social Security checks have been significantly increased thanks to the cost of living increase, which was 3.2%.
The COLA ensures that the purchasing power of Social Security and SSI benefits keeps pace with inflation. It is calculated by taking the percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Employees (CPI-A) from the third quarter of last year to the third quarter of this year.
According to the SSA, average payments for all retired workers will increase from $1,848 to about $1,907.
When will Social Security be paid in April 2024?
Now that we know the Social Security increase we received in March, we detail the Social Security paydays for this month coming up in a few days.
- First Social Security payment for pre-1997 retirees: April 1
- First Social Security payment for those born from the 1st to the 10th of any month, on April 10.
- April 17 will be for those born from the 11th to the 20th of any month.
- And finally, April 24 for those with birthdays from the 21st to the 31st of any month.
