The Social Security Disability Insurance payment schedule is ready for April. Even if there are 2 payments left on March 20 and 27, SSDI recipients should plan in advance their monthly budget.
Some disability recipients also qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Social Security has announced that the first payment in April will actually be for SSI beneficiaries.
As a matter of fact, SSI will be due on April 1, 2024. To receive money from Social Security some SSDI recipients must wait until April 3. That day is when two big groups of recipients get their direct deposit or checks.
WHO WILL GET MONEY FROM SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INSURANCE (SSDI) ON APRIL 3?
To receive a payment on April 3, you must be on both Social Security and SSI. In this way, those who receive a small check will get an SSI payment to supplement their monthly income. But not just this group of SSDI beneficiaries.
In fact, the Administration will send payments to SSDI recipients who started getting benefits before May 1997. Therefore, two completely different groups of beneficiaries get money from SSA.
Then, after April 3, there will be three more payments. Social Security has scheduled SSDI checks or direct deposits for Apil 10, 17, and 24. But only for those on benefits after April 30, 1997.
REQUIREMENTS TO GET SSDI ON APRIL 10, 17 OR 24
Obviously, all Social Security payments need filing and approval from the Administration. But for these SSDI recipients, SSA will check the day when they were born.
- SSDI payment on April 10: birth date from 1-10
- SSDI payment on April 17: birth date from 11-20
- SSDI payment on April 24: birth date from 21-31
As for the maximum amounts, the Administration has set $3,822 as the largest SSDI benefit in 2024. Average payments are worth $1,537. If you get SSI checks they can be up to $943 (single) or $1,415 (couples).
