Social Security disability benefits provide Americans with money when they cannot work. If a condition prevents you from working for over a year, do not hesitate and apply for SSI or SSDI. Sometimes you may even qualify for both of them if your income is too low.
During the month of May, there will be 6 different paydays for eligible Social Security disability recipients. Some of them will be able to receive up to 3 direct deposits or checks. The maximum amount for SSDI is $3,822 in 2024. However, if you are on Supplemental Security Income, you can get up to $943 if single or $1,415 if married.

SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY PAY CHART FOR MAY 2024
Although the Administration usually sends 5 payments per month, there will be one check in advance from June. In general, many recipients just qualify for one payment per month. Nevertheless, some beneficiaries get SSI and SSDI at the same time.
The thing is Supplemental Security Income recipients collect the May 1 and May 31 payment. Unless you lose your eligibility, you will collect both payments. What is more, if you also get SSDI, your payment will be due on May 3.
That will imply that these recipients will collect three Social Security Disability benefits in May. A triple payment which is not a bonus or extra payment. It is just the June 1 payment. The reason to send it on May 31 is because June 1 is Saturday.
RECIPIENTS WHO ONLY GET SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY INSURANCE
If you only receive SSDI, you can get one of the payments on May 3, 8, 15, or 22. May 3 will be yours if you have been on benefits before May 1997. If that is your case, you may have lost buying power due to inflation.
COLAs have not been enough to make up for inflation and high prices while on Social Security Disability benefits. The payments on May 8, 15 and 22 will be arranged in a different way. Recipients will receive them if they also meet the birth date requirement.
For example, if your birthday is on the 8th of any month, your SSDI will be arriving on May 8. Just like all recipients whose birthday is from 1-10. If it is from 11-20, you will receive Social Security Disability Insurance on May 15. Therefore, May 22 for those who were born from 21-31.
