Even if it is just a coincidence that the Administration sends money on Black Friday, it will come in handy for those who need to buy something and have a low income. So, keep reading if you are on Supplemental Security Income.

SSI recipients will get their December direct deposit on November 29, 2024. Of course, the reason why Social Security has scheduled it for that day is not Black Friday. Since December 1 is Sunday, it needs to be sent on the previous Friday.

If you are not on SSI, you may also have a chance to receive the Social Security retirement or SSDI payment a couple of days before Black Friday. If you started collecting Social Security after April 30, 1997, and you are not on SSI, you will receive your payment on November 27, 2024.

SSI payment amounts for Black Friday

Supplemental Security Income recipients can get up to $1,415 if they are married. Of course, both of you must be eligible. Individuals can receive up to $943. Essential persons can get up to $472.

However, many SSI beneficiaries receive Social Security at the same time. So, this can reduce their payment amount and they will not get $943. For example, the average payment for those age 65 or older is just $574.

The under-18s on SSI can get an average of $815. Those citizens who are between the ages of 18 and 64 can receive on average about $743. If you have applied for these benefits but you did not qualify, apply again after September 30 because there will be new rules.
