Social Security announces a new check for disability beneficiaries – find out your eligibility

If you are on disability benefits, you may qualify for the upcoming payment that Social Security has just issued

A new disability check is going to reach your bank account soon if you are eligible for this Social Security payment

Disability beneficiaries will be delighted to know that there is a new payment and it is about to be in their pockets if eligible. Social Security has scheduled a payment on November 15. Not all disability beneficiaries receive their check on the same day though.

The good thing is that this will not be the last check in November. Therefore, there will be another payday and you may receive your Social Security Disability Insurance on that day instead.

In total, there are four different paydays if you are on Social Security Disability Insurance. Another possibility is to cash money from Supplemental Security Income, which is available for people who are blind or have a disability.

Disability beneficiaries’ eligibility for the next Social Security check

Not all disability beneficiaries can collect the next Social Security payment. As a matter of fact, only those who did not receive benefits before May 1997 may qualify for this new check the Administration sends.

Another key requirement to cash disability benefits on November 15 is to have your birthday on the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, or 20th of the month.

Therefore, the number of disability beneficiaries who can collect the check on November 15 is limited. So, if your birthday is from the 1st to the 10th, your next check will be on December 13.

Those whose birthday is from the 21st to the 31st can still collect their Social Security Disability Insurance in November. Actually, the Administration has announced their next payment for November 22, 2023.

How much can Social Security Disability Insurance beneficiaries receive?

Thanks to the 2023 COLA the maximum amount for SSDI checks is $3,627. However, the latest statistics revealed by SSA confirmed that payments are a lot less on average. This is important to know because people who have recently applied may be disappointed if they expect more money.

If you are on SSDI the average payment is $1,486 said Social Security as of September 2023. Therefore, there is a big difference between possible maximum amounts and the real amount recipients collect every month.

The reason why this disability payment may be smaller is that workers did not have enough time to earn more Social Security credits. As a disability may appear, you may not have earned the necessary 40 work credits for retirement.

The new COLA increase will not arrive in December unless you collect Supplemental Security Income. So you will have to wait for the January payment from Social Security to take advantage of the 3.2% boost.
