On average, Social Security retirement benefits are worth $1,920. SSDI payments can be about $1,539 on average, so almost $1,540. If you are receiving SSI, your maximum amounts can be up to $943 for individuals and $1,415 for married couples. On average, about $698 for all recipients.

Retirees can receive the largest benefit payments worth $4,873. However, few American workers get so much money. SSDI recipients can only get up to $3,822, the same as retirees who file at Full Retirement Age.
