SSDI is the Social Security Disability Insurance and it has 4 different paydays per month. In fact, recipients can only be eligible for one of them. Sometimes there are changes in the usual paydays.
After Social Security announced the SSDI payment schedule for August, recipients need to know that they will not receive the money on August 3 if they are eligible for that payment. What is more, there will be no delays.
SSDI payment: not due on August 3
The Social Security Administration will send the first payment for eligible SSDI recipients on August 2, instead of August 3. Therefore, those who qualify will get their money 24 hours ahead of schedule.
The reason why the Administration had to reschedule the SSDI payment is because August 3 is a Saturday. SSA always sends money on the previous business day if the payment date falls on the weekend or holiday.
Eligibility for the August 2 payment will be as usual. To get money on the second you will have to be on SSI and SSDI at the same time. If not, you must have been collecting benefits for over 27 years.
Will there be any other SSDI changes in August?
The rest of the SSDI payments will not suffer any changes. They will be due on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday in August. The only thing is that, if compared to the July payments, they will take 4 days longer to arrive.
In July, the disability insurance payment dates were on July 10, 17 and 24. But in August, they will be sent on the 14th, 21st, and 28th. When it comes to payment amounts, the average check or direct deposit will be worth $1,537.
The largest Social Security Disability Insurance payment in August will be up to $3,822. Nevertheless, few recipients can get so much money since a disability may prevent them from working longer and it forces them to file early.
