SSDI is the Social Security Disability Insurance program for American workers and their families, who cannot carry on working due to their disability. So, those who filed, got approval, and remain eligible, will get their next monthly payment in December.
However, there are four different paydays, so if you are not sure when your next SSDI payment will be in your bank account, it is time to find it out to prepare your monthly budget.
SSDI payment on December 3, after Cyber Monday
If you received Social Security Disability Insurance before May 1997, the December 3 payment will be for you. Do not worry if you started collecting your disability benefits later because there is another way to be eligible for this monthly payment.
In fact, if you are a Social Security Disability Insurance recipient who also qualified for the Supplemental Security Income program, you will also qualify for SSDI on December 3, 2024.
Thus, SSI recipients who get SSDI at the same time will get a payment on December 3 for Disability Insurance and an SSDI check or direct deposit on December 31, 2024. This last SSI payment will be for January, but sent in advance and will include the 2025 COLA increase.
SSDI maximum amounts after Cyber Monday
If you have already run out of money because of recent events like Thanksgiving, Black Friday, or Cyber Monday, you could get up to $3,822 if you are eligible.
To achieve this large Social Security Disability Insurance payment, you must have filed at the required age, earned the taxable maximum for 35 years, and worked for all those years too. No doubt, you must have paid payroll taxes as you worked.
On average, SSDI recipients can get up to $1,542 on December 3, 2024. Other possible paydays if you got benefits after April 30, 1997, will be:
- Disability Insurance benefits due on December 11: birthday from 1-10
- Disability Insurance benefits due on December 18: born from 11-20
- Disability Insurance benefits due on December 24: birth date from 21-31
