SSDI payment will continue in early November. Next month will bring these disability benefits faster than in October. Usually, Social Security Disability Insurance payments are due on November 3, but not next month.
Since the usual date for the SSDI payments is not a business day, the Social Security Administration (SSA) had no other option but to change it. Consequently, all eligible recipients will get their payment in advance.
New date for the SSDI payment
The Social Security Administration’s payment schedule unveiled that the next Disability Insurance payday will be on November 1, 2024. Sunday, November 3 is when offices and banks are closed. To be eligible you must have started on SSDI before May 1997 or be on SSI as well.
Thus, these disability payments could be sent with delays if this change had not been made. The new date for the Disability Insurance in November brings important news.
SSI and SSDI will share the payment date. Therefore, if you are receiving both payments (Supplemental Security Income and Disability Insurance), you will get all the money you are entitled to on the very same day.
Will maximum and average SSDI amounts be the same?
In November and December, the Social Security Disability Insurance payments will be the same. The new COLA will not come into effect for these recipients until January 2025.
So the possible amounts will be:
- largest Disability Insurance payment: $3,822
- average payment for workers with a disability: $1,539
- average payment for children of workers with a disability: $492
- average payment for spouses of workers with a disability: $421
Those Disability Insurance recipients who would like to know the new amount of their 2025 payments after COLA can check it on their my Social Security account. The boost will be 2.5% extra per month. For example, if your payment is worth $1,000, your new check will become $1,025 after the COLA increase.
