First SSDI check or direct deposit in 2025

Social Security Disability Insurance payments will be issued on January 3, 2025, for 2 groups of eligible recipients. Therefore, the rest of disability beneficiaries will have to wait for, at least, the following week to get their monthly payment.

So, these 2 groups of workers with a disability will get their money from Social Security on the 3rd. What is more, there will be three more paydays in January 2025.

Wednesday round of SSDI payments

Some recipients will not collect their Disability Insurance payment until January 8. In this case, they must meet the birthday condition. If you were born from the first to the tenth, that is before the eleventh, so payday with the COLA increase will be on Wednesday, January 8.

Those who do not qualify for the January 8 disability payment may receive their check or direct deposit on January 15 with a COLA increase. In this case, they must have been born from the 11th to the 20th.

The last payday for SSDI recipients in January 2025, will be on Wednesday 22. This will be your payday if you were born after the 20th. So, if your birthday is from 21-31 you will be the last group to receive the 2025 COLA increase.

Social Security has confirmed that the average payments for SSDI recipients will be $1,580 in 2025. Thanks to the new COLA increase, this disability benefit will go up y 2.5%, up from $1,542.
