The Social Security Disability Insurance benefits are not over in August. Only 2 groups of SSDI recipients got money on August 2, 2024. The rest will have to wait a few days or a couple of weeks to receive their money.
To be eligible for SSDI benefits you must have a qualifying disability and you must also have enough Social Security or work credits. If you happen to get over your disability, you should report it to Social Security because you may lose your eligibility.
SSDI payment next week
As a matter of fact, some disability benefit recipients can collect their payments next week. Their check will be due on August 14. Actually, it will be the same payday for some retirees and for some Disability Insurance recipients.
To qualify for the SSDI payment on August 14 you:
- must have been born from the 1st to the 10th of any month
- cannot receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits
- cannot have received benefits before May 1997
Last 2 SSDI payments in the USA in August
While some disability recipients can get their money on August 21, others may receive it on August 28. Once more, your payday eligibility will depend on when you were born. Those on SSI or pre-May 1997 recipients are not eligible either.
- SSDI payment on August 21: birthday from 11-20
- SSDI payment on August 28: birthday from 21-31
- SSDI payment on September 3: If receiving SSI simultaneously or if on benefits before May 1997
When it comes to payment amounts for Disability Insurance, recipeints can get $1,537 on average. That is the average amount SSA unveiled in July for the month of June. So, the average amount might be very similar to that.
Some workers with a disability receiving Social Security can get up to $3,822 because they worked for 35 years, had jobd covered by SSA, earned the taxable maximum all those years and filed as late as SSA allows to qualify.
