From time to time, the Social Security Administration scheduled 2 SSI payments per month. This does not mean that recipients will receive more than one payment per month, because they will only receive 12 checks in 12 months.

Actually, it is just an advanced SSI payment from the Administration. Social Security needs to deliver payments on business days, and June 1 is not an option. Being a Saturday, the Supplemental Security Income payment needs to be sent on Friday, May 31.

SSI AVERAGE AMOUNT FOR 65-YEAR-OLDS AND OLDER

The average SSI payment is worth about $574 at 65 or older. Social Security retirement benefits start at the age of 62 although it may imply getting less money. Supplemental Security Income payments start at the age of 65, unless you are blind or have a qualifying disability, whether you are a child or an adult.

Since most seniors receive Social Security at 65, SSI payments cannot be the highest ones. The reason is simple, the more money you earn, the lower your Supplemental Security Income will be.

In fact, Supplemental Security Income payments are only for low-income citizens. Therefore, if you do not meet the income requirements you will not receive this Federal money. Other average amounts are possible if you are under 18 or 18-64.

SSI AVERAGE AMOUNT FOR UNDER 18 & 18-64

The SSI recipients that will receive more money will be those who are under 18 years old. Currently, the latest figure that SSA has announced is worth $815.71. Roughly, that is 241 dollars more than 65-year-olds and older seniors.

If you are between the ages of 18 and 64, the average Supplemental Security Income will be about $743. Do not forget that the next payment for all these recipients will be on May 31, 2024.

Social Security has also said that the average payment for all Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries will be about $698. Actually, it is slightly higher than a month ago.
