Actually, the SSI check due on December 31 will bring the 2025 COLA increase. For your information, the cost-of-living adjustment will increase Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits by 2.5%.
This annual COLA boost is slightly lower than the average of 2.6% in the last decade. Not to mention the fact that it will provide beneficiaries will a lower increase than in 2024, 2023, or 2022.
SSI new maximum amounts with the COLA increase
Depending on the amount you are receiving the COLA increase will give you more or less extra money. For example, if you get a $500 check, your payment will become $512.50 after COLA.
