The Social Security Administration (SSA) has revealed the requirements to get SSI (Supplemental Security Income) in March 2024. If you have never heard about this benefit, check the main requirements.
SSI payments may be for both adults and children. Therefore, you can check if your children are eligible for these monthly checks in the United States. Currently, the maximum payment is worth $1,415 for married couples and $943 for individuals.

The first thing that Social Security will take into account is your income. If you have little or no income, you can continue checking the rest of the requirements because you may be eligible.
DO YOU HAVE LITTLE OR NO RESOURCES?
If you have a low income and you also have little or no resources, good news. These two requirements are essential if you would like to get SSI payments in March.
The thing is having a low income and little resources is not enough. At least, you will have to meet one more key requirement. Are you blind? Do you have a disability? Are you 65 years old at least?
If your answer is “yes” to one of these 3 questions, you may be eligible for SSI payments. However, it is important to ensure you meet other conditions to get these checks.
CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS FOR SSI IN MARCH 2024
In order to get Supplemental Security Income checks, you must be a U.S. citizen. If not, you can also qualify if you are a U.S. national. Some non-citizens may also qualify. Nevertheless, you must be in one specific classification and DHS must have granted it.
What is more, SSI is only for residents in one of the 50 states. Residents of the Northern Mariana Islands and the District of Columbia can also apply for Supplemental Security Income.
Filing an application is necessary. Being absent from the previously mentioned places may result in not being eligible. People who are in prison or in a similar institution are not eligible.
