SSI and suplpementary payments in these US States

In general, the maximum SSI payment amount increases every year. Thanks to the Cost of Living Adjustment, millions of Americans can maintain their buying power. For example, Supplemental Security Income benefits increased by 3.2% in 2024.

SSA claims that some States supplement Federal SSI benefit payments. They do it with additional payments. As a consequence, Supplemental Security Income recipients in these States receive higher benefits than in those States where there is no supplementary payment.

Which States do not have a Supplementary payment for SSI?

Unfortunately, some Supplemental Security Income recipients do not get these Supplementary payments in the United States. Here is the full list of States that do not give Supplementary payments:

States sending Supplementary payments to SSI recipients
