SSI recipients have a lot of perks so it is time to learn about a new one. Supplemental Security Income can benefit from the Museums for All Program, may qualify for a cheaper Amazon Prime account and now can apply for the City of Pomona Household Universal Grants Pilot Program.
According to FORWARD, up to 250 people could take advantage of monthly payments for 18 months in the City of Pomona. If you are not part of the paid group, you could also be in a control group which gets 20 dollars per month for 1 year and a half.
Are there other requirements apart from getting SSI?
As a matter of fact, this HUG Program in the City of Pomona has residency, Age, Parent or Legal Guardian and ARPA Qualifications. So, if you do not live in the City of Pomona, you cannot apply even if you get SSI.
Those citizens who live in Pomona, get SSI but are not 18 years old at least, cannot apply either. Only legal guardians and parents can qualify for this HUG Program. Your child must be aged prenatal – under 4 years old when you apply.
Not only can applicants qualify if they receive SSI, but other benefits may also allow them to become eligible. For example, CCDF, CHIP, WIC, TANF, SNAP or CalFresh, Section 8 Vouchers, LIHEAP, and SBP among others. AMI, the area you live in or if affected by the pandemic may be other ways to qualify.
SSI recipients in the City of Pomona should file by this date
If you do not want to miss the deadline, you can apply on June 17, 2024. In this way, you will send your application on the first day of application. If you need extra time, you can apply for this payment until July 8th at 11:00 pm PST.
There will be a random lottery process that will choose the 600 participants in the City of Pomona Household Universal Grants Pilot Program.
So, by July 10th SSI applicants and others will be chosen. However, they will not know whether they have been chosen or not until August 12. Cases need to be reviewed to check if the chosen applicants qualify.
