Direct payments are on the way for millions of American beneficiaries. Retirement and disability checks will be due on 4 different paydays in the United States. Usually, there are 5 different paydays.
In fact, there will be a total of 5 payments, but in 4 days only. Therefore, there will be two checks on the same day. This double-check payday will be on March 1, 2024.
So who is receiving money early in the month? The first group of retirees and SSDI (disability benefits) recipients to get a payment will be those on Social Security before May 1997. Not just them though.
ARE YOU ON SSI AND SOCIAL SECURITY?
If you are on Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) at the same time, March 1 will also be your payment date. So, instead of receiving one check on March 1, this group of recipients will enjoy 2 at a time.
Social Security has scheduled another check for March 13. Bear in mind that the March 3 payment was rescheduled for March 1, since March 3 is Sunday. To get money on March 13 you must have been on benefits (retirement or SSDI) from May 1997 onward.
But you must also meet the birthday requirement. If your birthday is from 1-10, your check will be due on March 13. March 20 will be another payday if your birthday is from 11-20. If it is from 21-31, you get your money on March 27.
CHECK AMOUNTS IN MARCH (SSDI & RETIREMENT)
Although millions of American retirees and people with disability are on benefits, only thousands may get the exact amount of $1,909 or $1,537 respectively. These are in fact average payments.
If you do not qualify for an average payment, you could get a lot less. In that case, you may also qualify for SSI. The average SSI check is $697. However, some high earners may receive maximum benefits.
The largest benefit in retirement is $4,873 at 70. At 62 a retiree can get up to $2,710. If you are at Full Retirement Age, you can get up to $3,822. SSDI beneficiaries can get up to $3,822 too.
