Who is eligible to collect the December Social Security benefit and SSI?
Those who retired before 1997 already received their payment on December 3.
According to Social Security, beneficiaries who have a birthday between December 1 and December 10 are entitled to the benefit. Of course, it is necessary to have applied to this date to receive these retirement benefits.
This group of retirees or persons with disabilities (SSDI) will receive the payment on Wednesday, December 13.
Vulnerable persons who have applied for SSI will receive the next payment on Friday, December 1.
The December payment schedule is as follows
- December 1: SSI
- Dec. 1: SSA if beneficiary prior to 1997
- December 13: retirees born December 1 through December 10
- December 20: retirees born December 11 through December 20
- Dec. 27: for those born Dec. 21 through Dec. 31 of any month
- Dec. 29: SSI for January 2024
