Payments from the Federal Government like SSI have already been scheduled for October. The Social Security Administration will next send a new check or direct deposit for retirees and SSDI (disability insurance) benefits, not for SSI.
If you have not received your Social Security payment yet, it is more than likely that the last payday in September will be for you. So, make sure you take note of the important dates for payments.
Social Security retirement and SSDI payments left in September, then SSI checks
September 25 will be when retirees who meet all the requirements can receive money from the Social Security Administration. Some SSDI recipients may also qualify for this payday.
Do not forget that the birthday requirement is essential to get money from SSA on September 25. If you were born from the 21st to the 31st, your next check will be sent on the 25th. Those who qualify will receive their October payment on October 23rd.
If you were not born after the 20th, your next Social Security (SSDI or retirement benefit) will be issued in October. SSI recipients also have to wait for their direct deposit or check until the first day in October.
Social Security retirement and SSDI payments for October
October 3 will be when 2 large groups of retirees and SSDI recipients get money from the Administration. This will be the payday of those retirees and disability insurance recipients who are also receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
If you started receiving retirement or SSDI benefits before May 1997, October 3 will also be your next payday. Those who get money after October 3, will receive their payment on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday:
- SSDI or retirement on October 9: born from 1-10
- Disability Insurance and retirement payment on October 16: birthday from 11-20
- Disability Insurance and retirement payment on October 23: birthday from 21-31
- SSI payments on October 1 and November 1
