Although it will not be until October 1, 2024, when SNAP recipients enjoy the new COLA increase, the USDA, through the FNS has recently announced the changes. Finally, Food Stamps recipients can know that their benefits will increase.

For example, if you are living in the 48 contiguous States and the District of Columbia, the maximum SNAP payment for 8 will be $1,756, up from $1,751. So, there is a 5 dollar increase if you qualify for the full amount and get no reductions.

SNAP 2025 COLA increase brings new maximum amounts

It will depend on your household size and whether you qualify for a larger or smaller payment. The gross and net income you have can also affect the payment amount for Food Stamps. Check the maximum full amounts below:

1 recipient: up to $292
2 recipients: up to $536
3 recipients: up to $768
4 recipients: up to $975
5 recipients: up to $1,158
6 recipients: up to $1,390
7 recipients: up to $1,536
8 recipients: up to $1,756
Each additional person can get up to $220

Bear in mind that if you do not live in the 48 contiguous States or the District of Columbia, you may get a higher payment. This is because the State or U.S. territory where you live may have a much higher inflation. So, you need more money to buy the same groceries than other recipients in most States.
