However, there is one important thing to take into account. This is not a double payment and it is not a bonus either. Social Security scheduled this payment on May 31 because June 1 is on the weekend.
June 1 is Saturday, and the Administration never sends money on a holiday or on the weekend. In this way, they ensure that all direct deposits arrive on time. Advance payments 2 or 3 days before the usual due date are frequent.

If you qualify for the largest SSI payment in 2024, you will receive $1,886 in May. Nevertheless, this is not the only possible payment amount. Eligible couples could receive a lot more.
For example, if a couples qualify for the maximum SSI benefit, they could get $2,830. Social Security also allows essential persons to get SSI payments. Their payments are smaller.
Social Security said that the largest SSI payment for essential persons is worth $472, so they can get up to $944 in May. Anyway, save your May 31 check for June, and do not overspend money to avoid using credit cards and loans.
