A great deal of money is being spent by New York State to help reduce greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions produced by nearly 30,000 gas-powered cars.
From Buffalo to Albany, New York State is dedicated to lowering its carbon footprint. The state is actively working to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the use of fossil fuels across various sectors, including transportation, housing, and agriculture.
How much will New York State spend on it?
According to a recent press release and multiple reports, New York State has allocated over $33 million to help farmers update their practices to align with the state’s environmental goals. This funding aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance other environmental protections on farms.
New York State aspires to lead the way in helping its farms reduce their carbon footprint. “Altogether, the projects are estimated to reduce greenhouse gases by 120,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year – the equivalent of removing 28,560 gasoline-powered vehicles from the road for one year.
This is nearly double the impact of the previous round of the program,” stated a representative from the state. If this issue worries you, you can also start getting rid of fossil fuels step by step.
