New Mexico
New Mexicans are eligible for refunds of up to $500 for individuals and $1,000 for couples who filed their personal income tax return (PIT) in 2021.
Although the checks and direct transfers were mailed in June, those who filed their return in October could get their refund in November. The deadline to file the 2021 PIT return and get the refund is May 31, 2024.
Washington
Washington residents have until December to apply for the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC), which offers payments ranging from $50 to $1,200.
This program is periodic and can be applied for annually, with an application deadline of December 31. The application process and receipt of reimbursement can take up to 90 days to complete.
Alabama
In Alabama, November marks the beginning of the distribution of tax refund checks for residents who have successfully filed their 2022 tax returns. The amount they will get is up to $300 for couples who filed a joint return and $150 for single taxpayers.
These funds will begin arriving beginning November 30. Those with direct deposit will get the refund in their bank accounts, while for those who do not have an account on file, the refund will be issued by check and mailed.
Alaska
The State of Alaska continues to distribute the Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) 2023, which is in the amount of $1,312.
Payments will be made beginning November 16 for 2023 (and prior year) dividend requests that are in “Eligible-Unpaid” status by November 8.
Montana
In Montana, the state continues to send individual income tax refunds, which give individual taxpayers an amount of $1,250 or the amount on line 20 on Form 2, whichever is less.
Married couples filing jointly will get $2,500 or the amount on line 20, whichever is less. These rebates began in July and will continue through December.
Virginia
Separately, in Virginia, individual taxpayers could be eligible for a tax refund of up to $200, while couples filing a joint return could get up to $400.
According to the Virginia Department of Taxation, taxes must be filed by Nov. 1 to be eligible for this rebate.
