The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has announced the next payments in 2024. It is the United States Department of Agriculture the one that funds these checks, but States can administer paydays.
That is there reason why there are so many different paydays. While some States send SNAP benefits throughout the month, others prefer to send it in one single payment.
For example, Florida and Texas will send Food Stamps from January 1 through January 28. Now, let us have a look at the States where all beneficiaries collect their SNAP checks on January 1, 2024.
SNAP BENEFITS ON JANUARY 1 ON A SINGLE PAYDAY
Alaska will be one of the states that will send all the SNAP benefits on January 1, 2024. Therefore, this will be the only payday possible if you get Food Stamps in this State. Beneficiaries in Alaska usually receive the largest maximum amounts. This is because there is higher inflation in this state.
What is more, not all recipients qualify for the same maximum amounts. It depends on the area where you live. Urban areas get less money than those in rural areas. North Dakota will also send SNAP benefits on January 1, 2024. Besides, it will be the only payday as well. The U.S. Virgin Islands too.
As for the maximum amounts, they can get the same payments as in any of the 48 contiguous States and the District of Columbia. SNAP recipients in Rhode Island will collect their Food Stamps on New Year. Just like in Alaska and North Dakota. Vermont also has January 1 as the only payday for these benefits.
These states will not get SNAP on January 1: Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Dakota, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Utah. The rest may receive Food Stamps if they meet the state requirements.
FOOD STAMP AMOUNTS FOR 4 PEOPLE ON JANUARY 1
If you are a family of four, you can get up to $973 in the 48 contiguous States and the District of Columbia. Average payments may be about $260 lower than that. So, it could be about $713.
If you live in the United States Virgin Islands, your SNAP checks will be higher. A four-member family can get up to $1,251 there. Actually, it is $278 more than in the 48 contiguous States.
Alaska will send the highest SNAP checks on January 1, 2024. Especially if you live in Rural 2. In that area, Food Stamps can be worth up to $1,937. Urban beneficiaries in Alaska can get up to $1,248.
Citizens living in Rural 1 can receive SNAP benefits worth up to $1,591. If you are a family of four and you cannot make ends meet, apply for Food Stamps before 2024.
