Whether you are receiving Social Security retirement, disability (SSDI), or SSI (Supplemental Security Income), there could be a payment for you in the next 2 weeks if you are eligible.
First of all, there will be a payment for retirees and disability insurance recipients on July 24. To be eligible, you must have been on benefits after April 30, 1997, you cannot be receiving SSI benefits and your birthday must be after the 20th of any month.
Payment amount for Social Security on July 24
The amount of your Social Security check or direct deposit may differ. It will depend on the age you file, your work history, and the earnings you had in jobs covered by SSA.
However, retirees will get an average payment of about $1,918 on July 24. Some retirees may qualify for the largest Social Security payment worth $4,873. To get it you must have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years and filed at 70.
If you are receiving SSDI on July 24, the average disability insurance payment will be about $1,537. The largest disability benefit is $3,822, but it will be unlikely to qualify because a disability may prevent you from meeting all the requirements.
Social Security in 2 weeks
The first payment in August will be due on the 1st. Supplemental Security Income recipients will be the first to cash their checks next month, but the last ones too.
This is because the SSI payment for September will be sent on August 30, rather than September 1. SSI amounts can be about $697 on average, but the maximum benefit will be $943 (individuals) or $1,415 (married couples).
What is more, you are on SSI and Social Security, your next payment will be delivered on August 2, not August 3. Bear in mind that Social Security will also be sent for those on benefits before May 1997 on August 2, 2024. Plan your monthly budget before your payment comes!
