SSDI recipients will receive one of the 4 Social Security payments in November. To qualify for any of them you must have filed and gotten approval from the Agency, apart from other eligibility criteria.
Disability benefits can be either Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Sometimes they could share the payday for some eligible recipients. And this is what will happen in Novmeber.
SSI and SSDI on November 1, 2024
All SSI recipients will get their monthly payment on November 1. This Federal check or direct deposit may not be the only payment you receive if you are on Social Security Disability Insurance.
Those who usually get their SSDI payment on November 3 will get their check or direct deposit in advance. For your information, November 3 cannot be a payday for Disability Insurance because it is not a business day.
So SSA has had to reschedule this Disability Insurance payment for the previous Friday which is a business day. Then, eligible recipients will get their disability payment on November 1 rather than November 3, 2024.
2 direct deposits on November 1: 1 SSDI + 1 SSI payment
To get 2 payments on November 1 you must:
- qualify for SSI &
- be eligible for SSDI simultaneously
- do not break any Social Security rules to remain eligible
Bear in mind that none of the November payments for SSI or SSDI will bring the 2.5% COLA increase Social Security announced on October 10. SSI recipients will not get the COLA boost until December 31.
SSDI recipients will not receive the cost-of-living adjustment until January 2025. As for the amounts, SSI recipients can get up to $3,822, but average payments of about $1,539 are more likely.
SSI recipients can get up to $943, or $698 on average. Eligible married couples get up to $1,415 from the Supplemental Security Income payment. Aftet the COLA boost payments will be up to $967 for individuals and up to $1,450 for couples.
