The Social Security Administration (SSA) has arranged the next SSDI payment dates. Disability benefits will arrive on March 13, 20 and 27. So, many recipients will receive their money tomorrow.
SSDI recipients who started getting money from Social Security before May 1997 will not get their next check until April 3, 2024. If you started getting disability benefits later, you need to check your birthday.
The thing is the Social Security Administration uses birth dates to organize SSDI payments. Therefore, the earlier in the month you have your birthday, the sooner your check or direct deposit will arrive.
SSDI PAYMENT ELIGIBILITY
Social Security Disability Insurance payments will arrive on March 13 if your birthday is from 1-10. Regardless of the month you were born. But as long as you got benefits from May 1997 onward.
Similarly, other recipients will cash a new payment on March 20. Therefore, it will be another Wednesday payment. To get it you must have your birthday from 11-20.
If your birthday falls from 21-31, your SSDI direct deposit or check will be due on March 27, 2024. Thus, recipients will have to wait until the 4th Wednesday in March.
WHO CAN RECEIVE $1,395 ON MARCH 13, 20, OR 27?
According to the Social Security Administration, the average Disability Insurance is worth $1,395.33. Therefore, most beneficiaries may receive a similar amount.
Nevertheless, some workers were high earners and they could expect larger checks. The largest SSDI benefit is worth $3,822 in 2024. To get it you must have earned the taxable maximum for 35 years in jobs covered by SSA and have filed late.
Early filing can reduce your payment by 30%. The disadvantage for disability beneficiaries is the fact they cannot claim benefits when they want, but when their disability appears. That is the main reason why SSDI payments are much lower than retirement benefits. All these benefits include the 3.2% COLA boost.
