The Supplemental Security Income or SSI payments will not be sent during the month of October. Bear in mind that October 1st was Sunday, and Social Security never sends money on a holiday or at the weekend.
Millions of Americans were taken aback when they saw their SSI check would not arrive on October 1st. The biggest surprise was when they received their monthly payment in September.
Therefore, they cashed their SSI on September 29. Actually, two days before they expected it. Although it may seem strange not to cash a check during the month of October, there is nothing wrong with it. This is the way Social Security arranges payments.
When will Social Security send the next SSI check?
If you are on Social Security and get SSI, you will cash your next payment on November 1, 2023. As recipients received their checks of up to $914 on September 29, it seems to be a long wait till then.
That is why it is advisable to plan your monthly budget and avoid wasting money. Try to use cash rather than credit cards. In this way, you will be able to know the real amount of money you are spending.
Another fact that may surprise you is that Social Security will send two Supplemental Security Income payments in December. However, this will not be a bonus payment. December 1st, 2023, will be payday for those on SSI.
So, they will get their check for the month of December. On December 29th, they will cash money from the January payment. As stated before, Social Security will pay in advance to avoid delays since January 1st is a holiday and banks are not open. So, there will be no check during the month of January.
