Stimulus checks are coming to an end, which is why it is so important to look for all sorts of payments. For example, there is a new tax refund in the State of Virginia.
The Virginia Department of Taxation claims that not all taxpayers can qualify for a tax refund. Therefore, only some taxpayers will be eligible for this stimulus check of up to $400.
What is more, the maximum amount is not for individuals, it is only for married couples filing jointly. An individual can receive up to 200 dollars if eligible for this stimulus check.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO CASH A STIMULUS CHECK IN VIRGINIA?
The Virginia Department of Taxation stated that you would collect up to $200 if you had tax liability the previous year. Therefore, you must have filed last year’s tax return.
Those who had tax liability and filed jointly may receive up to $400. They also explain that tax liability refers to the amount of money you owe in tax all year round minus any subtractions, deductions, or credits you may qualify for.
For instance, some taxpayers in Virginia may qualify for the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit). Anyway, you can simply find your stimulus check eligibility by using a rebate lookup tool.
In order to use the rebate lookup tool, you will need a Social Security Number. An ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number) can replace the SSN if you do not have one yet. Make sure you remember your ZIP code as well.
WHEN WILL THE VIRGINIA TAXATION DEPARTMENT SEND THE STIMULUS CHECK?
Although the exact day they will start sending the tax rebates is not clear, Virginia Tax will send the first stimulus checks in early November. So, you still have some time to file your tax return.
If you haven’t filed your individual income taxes this year, remember that Virginia’s extension deadline is Nov. 1, 2023. Learn more about your filing options on our website: https://t.co/CwCwuWq9wD pic.twitter.com/MVOiLAsvIM
