Although September 11 could be your payment date if you are receiving SSDI, other recipients may not qualify for it. Bear in mind that the Social Security Administration has set 4 different paydays for September.
If you received SSDI on September 3, you will not qualify for the September 11 payment. This is simply because you can only receive one payment per month. What is more, you may receive Disability Insurance at a later date. It will be your case if you do not meet the birthday requirements.
Birthday requirement to get SSDI on the 11th
The Social Security Administration will only send Disability Insurance payments on the 11th to those recipients whose birthday is from the 1st to the 10th. It does not really matter the month you were born.
Another possibility for SSDI recipients is to receive money from the Administration on September 18. Of course, you must have been born after the 10th. Do not forget that if you start working you should report it to SSA.
If you overcome your disability, you must also inform the Agency. After the September 11 and 18 payments, there will be another payment date on September 25.
How large can SSDI checks be in September?
The Social Security Administration claims that the largest Disability Insurance payment will be $3,822 in 2024. So, that will be the maximum amount in September, regardless of the payday.
Some SSDI recipients may just receive a small check which is even lower than average. In their case, they may be eligible for Supplemental Security Income payments but some are missing out on them.
When it comes to average SSDI payments, SSA claims that they are $1,539 as of August 2024. This is what the Agency has recently informed of. The October 3 payment will be your next payday if:
- you are on SSI and Disability Insurance at the same time
- you got benefits before May 1997
- (thus) you are on SSDI but you do not qualify for the September 11, 18, or 25 payment
