The Social Security Administration has confirmed that there will be a Federal payment before November comes to an end. In this case, this check or direct deposit will only be for those who have already filed and got approval for Supplemental Security Income benefits. So, it will be the second SSI check the Agency has scheduled for November.
The SSI payment will be the check or direct deposit for December but sent ahead of schedule. In this way, there will be no delays. if the payment had been scheduled for December 1, 2024, banks would not be open, so they may not be able to process payments until the next business day.
Third payment for some Americans on both SSI and Social Security
Although there will be no extra or bonus payment in November, some eligible recipients will get three payments during the month of November. Remember that SSI was issued on November 1, 2024.
On the same day, the Social Security Administration sent out the checks and delivered the direct deposit to recipient’s bank account if they qualified for the payment on the 3rd. The November 3 payment was issued on November 1 because the third was Sunday.
Since some Americans on a low income qualify for SSI and retirement or SSDI, they got 2 payments on Nov. 3, 2024. Then, since the SSI payment for December 1 will be delivered on November 29, 2024, this will be the third payment they receive during the same month.
How much money will SSI recipients get? Social Security unveils it
The November 29, 2024, payment will be for SSI and their maximum amounts are:
- $472 for an essential person
- $943 for an individual
- $1,415 for an eligible married couple
Many SSI recipients may get a reduction because they have other earnings. Therefore, they will not qualify for maximum amounts. For instance, the average payment for those aged 65 and older is about $574. While all SSI recipients get about $697 said Social Security.
