The Social Security Administration has informed Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients that a new payment is arriving on April 1, 2024. However, there will only be a payday, unlike retirement or SSDI.
SSI payments of up to $1,415 are always on the same payday. Therefore, all those recipients who continue to be eligible will collect a new payment on April 1, 2024.
SSI MAXIMUM AMOUNTS IN THE UNITED STATES
For your information, not all Supplemental Security Income payments contain the same amount. Hence, this will depend on your personal and financial circumstances.
As a matter of fact, an individual can receive a Supplemental Security Income check of up to $943. So, if you are single, you will not receive the largest payment of up to $1,415.
Only eligible married couples who get SSI checks can receive $1,415. Do not forget that the lower your income and the less money you have on hand, the easier it will be to get more from this Federal program.
SSI AVERAGE AMOUNTS IN APRIL 2024
Supplemental Security Income payments are much lower than SSDI and retirement benefits. This is because it is usually a supplement to your monthly income.
So most recipients already collect other payments like Social Security. As of February 2024, the average SSI check is worth $696.80. That is what Social Security revealed on the latest monthly statistical snapshot.
Under 18 who get monthly SSI payments get higher average payments. They get approximately $808.02 on average. Those who are 18 and up to 64 years old can get up to $742.67.
In fact, 65-year-olds and older receive $574.62 on average. As you can see, this is the group of recipients with the lowest checks. As they may get retirement benefits, they do not qualify for the largest SSI payments.
